In Love and Grief

I often feel a sense of deep attachment to people as soon as I've photographed them even just once. I find myself wanting to know more, and more, and more about their lives while falling in love with their stories. Photography has allowed me into the most intimate environments of peoples lives where I'm able observe, document, and learn ways of being apart from my own.

This collection documents the shrouding and natural burial of Craig Sinclair, whose elopement I photographed a few years ago. He is, unfortunately, not the only one to have passed away shortly after marriage. When he and his wife asked if I would photograph his upcoming funeral, I approached it much like I did their wedding, but the emotion swung from the other side of the pendulum.
