FAQ

What is your pricing?

I offer thoughtfully curated packages to suit the size & scope of your event. Rates begin at $8000+ for signature coverage or $5000+ for more intimate settings. Elopements and proposals are $2000 for 2 hours. Once we've confirmed availability for your date, I will share detailed information regarding pricing.

Please use this contact form or email hello@quynduong.com to get in touch. You can also call/text/WhatsApp me directly at +1 (347) 454-6608 to quickly confirm availability.

I require a signed contract and 50% nonrefundable retainer to officially secure your date. The remainder is due 30 days prior to the event.

How do you describe your style and approach?

I am both an active participant and a fly on the wall. I read the room for light and emotions. I care about helping you remember everything with intention. I'll be a source of calm, joy, and hype who you can turn to when needed; at the same time, you'll forget I'm even there. I'm everywhere and nowhere at once, always observing and documenting moments as they unfold naturally. I combine my editorial experience with a narrative approach, that is to say, your story will be documented with all the special details that make your wedding yours.

What I love most about weddings is seeing all your favorite people gathered in the same place sharing stories, performing age old ceremonies, and creating new traditions together. I'm fascinated by the unique cultural aspects of it all. I feel privileged to be invited into these intimate spaces to experience so many different cultures! The food, music, dances, readings.. it's the best job ever.

I love to capture candids of your loved ones throughout the whole day. For portraits, I'll guide you to the best light and photo op spots and offer posing direction as needed. All I ask of you is to be so in love and to be excited to share that with your friends and family so that I can focus on getting those one-of-a-kind shots that can't be faked.

Where do you work? Are there travel fees?

I am based in New York City and most frequently work throughout the five boroughs, Hudson Valley, Catskills, and the Hamptons. I've had the pleasure of traveling for clients throughout the country and internationally. Please get in touch wherever you are. An all-inclusive quote will be provided so you will not have any surprise travel fees.

Do you use film or digital? How do you choose what equipment to use for us?

I have amassed a collection of film & digital cameras over the past two decades, each producing their own distinct image characteristics. Throughout the consultation process, we will discuss the overall look, feel, and budget you are seeking for your photos. In general, most of my clients combine a hybrid of film and digital images. In an evergrowing AI-powered world, film photography has experienced a renaissance in the last few years, which is a delight to see! There are, however, a number of quirks and cautions to film which we will discuss during consultations.

How do you pronounce your name?

Quinn! The Americanized version of my last name is dew-wong but you have to say it fast into one syllable.

Tell us about your logo!

My logo is drawn from my maternal grandfather's bespoke tailoring business logo. He opened shop on the ground level of our family's home in the Dakao district of Saigon in 1960 amidst an ongoing war. The dog in the center of the logo represents my Bà Ngoại's zodiac animal, a nod toward loyalty, companionship, and reliability.

My parents were married in this home in 1984. How they met is a story all of its own! My father, an intelligence officer for the South Vietnamese army, was imprisoned in the re-education camps for 8 years following April 30, 1975. Through a connection from a fellow inmate, he began writing letters to my mother, a born and bred caretaker. They exchanged letters for years without ever meeting or knowing what the other looked or sounded like. The way the story has been passed down to me, it's said that he went directly to meet her upon his release from the camps. But she was too shy to see him, so instead he won over my grandfather's heart. Finally, they met face-to-face, got married, birthed two daughters (hello, it's me), then in 1993 migrated their new lives to East Tennessee where they lived happily ever after...

My father passed away from cancer in 2022. The sudden loss was devastating. One of the ways I found solace and meaning was to lean heavily into my calling as a photographer and storyteller. As the daughter of a veteran, it's a true pleasure to be able help preserve the spirits and memories of others as a lifelong career.
